Post Haiti get together
April 25, 2008
Hey guys,
I'd like to have a gettogether before Wayne and Dee leave which is the weekend of May 2nd and 3rd. Faie and I will be out of town on that weekend. Don offered to help coordinate a crawfish boil. What about having it at Pete and Charlene's property on Thursday, May 1st? If that would work for Don, Pete and FAie, I'll set it up from this end. Let me know if you are coming so we can get an accurate head count.
Lloyd

Shoe packing plans revised
April 5, 2008
Good morning All,
We’re having to tweak our shoe pack up schedule a little. There is a function in the St. Bridget Community Center annex today which will not finish as early as we first anticipated so we will not do any packing tonight (Saturday, April 5th) beginning as previously planned at 5 PM. Instead we will have two packing sessions tomorrow (Sunday, April 6th). We will begin at 8 AM on Sunday until 11:30 AM - break until 1 PM and begin again. We will have barbecued chicken dinners available for those who want to stay for lunch or come for lunch. If any of you would want to come to Mass at St. Bridget tommorrow, masses are at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
See you tomorrow!
Lloyd and Faie

World Water Day
April 1, 2008
Hello everyone!
Our World Water Day event was a wonderful success enjoyed by all. We collected about $9000 from all the activities involved. We’re waiting for all expenses to come in for a more accurate accounting for the actual profit earned from this activity. Most importantly, everyone who came out, especially the children seemed to have had a great time. We had a deputy from the Lafourche parish sheriff’s office pull the winning tickets for the raffle. First place winner of the $1000 was Carmel Duplantis (yes, that is my daughter and no, it wasn’t rigged!!!) – 2nd place for the handmaid queen size quilt was Louise Lirette (Gary’s wife) - 3rd place for the $100 gift certificate to Lloyd’s Remedies was Al Chaisson. Congratulations to all! Thanks to all who helped in any way with work, donations and prayer support. There were too many to name individually but not enough can be said about the incredible job that Lynette Cortez did along with her sidekick – Brenda Fremin (and her husband- Ronald). These women worked untiringly, putting in countless hours of preparation, planning and development. God Bless All.
Don’t get too comfortable however; this upcoming...

Quarterly Meeting Report
February 8, 2008
Good Morning Everyone,
We had a wonderful time at the quarterly meeting, getting together with our latest missionaries and all the “ole timers”. The reports were wonderful and inspiring. What joy to hear of how water is finally flowing from the two wells drilled this past summer. Everyone could feel the pride and joy in the hearts of the team members when they proudly announced that they had accomplished all of the goals on their “to-do” list for the trip.
For those of you that weren’t able to come, the latest issue of the newsletter has all the details. We need some help putting the newsletter together for mailing next week. Anyone who can help, please meet at the St. Bridget Community Life Annex at 9 AM on Tuesday, February 12th. Call Faie for info or to let her know you can help. 688-5002.
Keep our drill team in prayer. They are busy drilling a well to bring water to an orphanage but they are having a tough time of it.
Thanks to the hard work, ingenuity and talent of our website administrator,...

Safe Return
January 22, 2008
Good Morning Everyone,
Gary, Ken and Jonathan have returned home safely filled with stories of running water, pigs, joy, hope and the goodness of God. What a wonderful evening in store for everyone who can come this Saturday. The following is the reminder announcement. Please RSVP to Faie as to whether you can come and what you would like to bring. 985-876-3798 or her cell – 985-688-5002
The Haiti Mission quarterly pot-luck supper will be on Saturday, January 26th at 6 PM in the St. Bridget Community Life Annex. We will hear a first-hand update about the status of the new water wells just drilled in the villages from members of the team who recently returned from a trip in which the pumps were installed in the wells. Our annual trip will be April 14th to the 21st. Anyone interested in being part of this year’s mission should attend this meeting. Everyone is invited. Come celebrate with us all that God has done and is doing through St.Bridget parish and its Haiti Mission.
For those who can't attend Saturday, we'll have pictures up on the website in the next...

Water FINALLY running!
January 16, 2008
1/15/2008
As I was preparing to send out an email letting everyone know that our pump installation team had arrived, I received the following email.
Dear Deacon Lloyd,
I just want to share with you our great joy to have new and fresh water from a new well, thanks to the delegation you just sent to install the solar pump. They encountered a little problem before with the controller box that caused some delay in the process. Ken just called me to let me know that "water is flowing from the well now and that they took a lot of photos". Deo gratias!
One more time, thank you so much for all. Prayerfully, Fr. Joe
Praise God, after seven years of planning, praying, preparing, working, being disappointed, continuing to continue – water is flowing at this well and probably at the second well because that pump was installed last week.
Attached to the subsequent email is the article done by the Houma Courier regarding our planning meeting on Saturday prior to the team leaving.
This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Rejoice with us and congratulations to all!...

Making the News
January 15, 2008
A reporter went to one of the meetings members of the Haiti Mission attended before leaving for their trip and the article appeared in the paper the next day. I think you can still access the article by following this link. I can't promise it will still be there. http://www.houmatoday.com/article/20080113/NEWS/801130314/1183/ARCHIVES14
I believe they only keep it available for a short period of time. Good luck and enjoy.
